PETER HARVES

Peter has been potting for the past 35 years.  He was trained Brookvale Sydney at Florenz Pottery which his father ran since 1951. His Father was bought out by the Australian government in 1948 to help start the Ceramic Industry at Commonwealth ceramics, now  Johnson and Johnson Tiles.

Peter was influenced by the many professional potters that worked at
Florenz, one of those was the well known  potter Harry Mammot. As above Peter and Val started the Coolangatta Craft centre and during those years Peter was a full time Potter and Sculpture.  During the last ten years Peter has been working with the medium of Glass Pate-de-vere (paste of glass) which is an old French Art. Often working the glass and pottery together to create very unusual  Art pieces  which he has Exhibited in many galleries with commissions all over Australia and Overseas.
