KOSTA ABDARMANOV

Kosta Abdarmanov was born in Macedonia. He received his education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1954 under the tuition of Aloiz Dolinar, a renowned Slovenian artist. Kosta has been a member of the Association of Macedonian Artists since 1958. He immigrated to Australia in 1997.

As a professional sculptor and painter he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally. Kosta’s work encompasses a vast range and includes public as well as private commissions. His public commissions include memorials, park sculptures, busts of Macedonian Revolutionaries and fountains throughout Macedonia, as well as reliefs, paintings and drawings. Kosta received three major awards for his memorials in Macedonia. A number of his works are included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje and National Art Gallery in Skopje. Many of his works also reside in private galleries and the homes of private collectors.

By embracing impressionist, expressionist and abstract art, Kosta’s work has evolved into a style that is uniquely his own. He is particularly interested in exploring the natural beauty of his beloved current had former homelands.
