KAY YATES
Kay has been painting and drawing since she was a young girl. Ironically, her interest has always been to portray the old houses, the subject that is still one of her greatest interest. She derives much inspiration from the old stone houses abundant in her local area and the quaint architecture of European cities.
Currently she is working on a series of Italian and Greek coastal scenes. Colour and texture are very important part of her work. She works in many mediums in preference of acrylic, watercolour, inks and pastels.
Kay has studied art at Willandra Ryde and at the Willoughby Workshop. Besides painting and drawing, she had also studied sculpture and pottery with a preference for clay, experimenting with many different glazes.
Kay is regularly exhibiting in many group exhibitions around Sydney .
